All Roads Lead to (SHOPPING) Rome!
April 04, 2012
A thousand roads lead man
for ever towards Rome; a proverb that still holds true two and a half thousand
years later, as millions of enthusiastic travelers flock to the ‘Eternal City’ to
relish in its immensely rich historical heritage and cosmopolitan atmosphere.
Today, Rome is also seen as
a shopping heaven, being regarded as one of the fashion capitals of the world
(some of Italy's oldest jewellery and clothing establishments were founded in
the city). With so many sights and things to do, Rome can truly be classified a
‘global city’ and a few years ago Gucci designer, Frida Giannini, proved just
that when she decided to relocate the Florentine-based luxury brand to Rome.
Giannini’s logical decision
to relocate was also inspired by Rome’s magnificence and fresh energy; the same
energy that infuses each Gucci collection and attracts millions of visitors to
Rome each year. So that being said, who better to give insider advice on where
to shop in Rome, then fellow Roman and Gucci designer, Frida Giannini.
